Ok, so this semester I have an independent study class, in which I can do anything I want. I was thinking about focusing on my vector and Illustrator skills, since they seem to be lacking, but I'm not sure if there are other options besides Photoshop that I am overlooking without realizing it. Anyway, I want to try to make a series of artworks based around the struggle between man as primal being and man as an intelligent, calculating, unique form of life. Does this sound like an interesting idea, or can you think of anything better that I can do with this class?
ok, so i never expected my latest work to be so popular. i've been responding to comments for almost two hours, and i still have 131 things to respond to. if you dont hear from me right away, don't feel like i forgot you. each and every word that i get in response to my art is cherished, and i wil respond to each and every message i get. thank you so much for your support, time, and energy!

with over 7,200 views in less than 24 hours, i'm starting to get bogged down. i still have over 600 messages to respond to, but i will get to all of you. more people have visited in the last day than in the first two months of my being here (i joined on oct. 8th, and released my lastest painting on dec. 8th). it's an amzing feeling to hear all of your opinions. i love it. hopefully i'm inspring you to actually do something with your emotions. use them wisely.
you know...i should REALLY start going to class more often. i don't think i've been since like...last thursday or something. i don't even remember. but i've been having these weird thoughts in my head lately that just tell me that school isn't that important anyway. and i must say...i agree. don't you? i mean, in a non-conformist, rational, and realistic sense, the classes i go to have barely any benefit to them. i pay thousands of dollars for these classes, and get pennies of knowledge out of them. in some instances, i've even had to teach my teachers how to do things. the books i have to buy are so expensive that i STILL don't have enough money for all of them (i've spent about $700 so far on school supplies this semester). does this make any sense? because to me it doesn't. to me, it is blatant that the world of formal education is just another business. it's main drive is profit (monetary, of course). colleges and universities don't care about what you learn, as long as they make money off of you...as long as you buy the newest editions of the same old books...as long as you pay top-notch for professors who think that a cable modem stops working everytime you turn off your computer, and you have to call support to have them reset the modem (that was my 'computers & applications' teacher, btw)...as long as you keep your eyes closed and grip your ankles tighter.
does anyone else feel this way? does everyone else believe all the lies and fronts and false stories? feedback please. if i'm right let me know. if i'm wrong, please whip my ass into shape until i realize it. thanks.
